Never rub stains, blot them instead

Bloat stains by putting a little pressure on them so any excess liquid is absorbed before treating it further. You can use a clean cloth, paper towel, or a sponge to blot. Another key factor is to bloat the stain from outside to the inside; blotting outwards will only spread the stain.

Now apply Hydrogen Peroxide directly to the remaining stain; when Hydrogen peroxide contacts Blood, it foams instantly, so you should not get startled at that. Finally, dab the spot with a dry towel to leave the carpet dry.
