As the name suggests, this method uses a wet and dry vacuum for sofa cleaning. In this method, the shampoo foam is applied by hand to the fabric and then the fabric is brushed manually. The process is widely used as the process and the vacuum is cheap. However the cleaning is not very good and most of the shampoo remains in the fabric.
The injection extraction method of sofa cleaning involves use of a special machine which sprays water and immediately sucks it out. This ensures the fabric is deep cleaned and no shampoo is left in the fabric.

The wet and dry method of sofa cleaning is cheap. However it has many limitations
- The ideal method is to use dry foam which has very little moisture to give good cleaning. However the dry foam is very light and does not penetrate into the fabric. It provides surface cleaning.
- If the opearator used high moisture shampoo, then by the time the vacuuming starts, the moisture would have already reached deep into the foam.
- To get high foam, the operators use high caustic liquid as it is cheap. This will reduce the life of the fabric
